We woke up at 7.45 a.m., went out at 9, had a breakfast at Pacific Coffee, 132 Nathan Road, where we had a very good cappuccino. Then, moved to Lantau Island, which is the largest island in Hong Kong, in order to visit the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery. We caught the MTR red line system at Tsim Sha Tsui toward Tsuen Wan, stopping at Lai King. Afterwards, we waited for the connection, by the orange line, to Tung Chung. Then caught bus line 23 towards the Ngong Ping place that hosts the Big Buddha statue.
A vegeterian buddhist lunch was included in the ticket cost. We got it inside the temple restaurant. We were suggested, by M., to eat there, indeed. As a matter of fact his suggestion was truely spot-on.
After having eaten in a very unique restaurant, we walked out and went to the shopping promenade just beside the Monastery’s area. After that and having bought some gifts, we got back, by bus, to Lantau Maritime Terminal. So, we caught the MTR to Lai King, connecting then with the MTR red line to Tsim Sha Tsui. We arrived at our place at about 6.30 p.m..
Got out again for visiting the close market inside the Mirador Mansion. After that, we got to the supermarket on the Humphrey’s just to buy some food. We came back to our place at about 7.30 p.m..
